Amplifi router login lets you access the router’s web interface so you can configure the basic, advanced, and other default settings. When you log in at http://amplifi.lan you can change the SSID name and WiFi password to protect your WiFi network.
How to Login to Amplifi Router
If you notice your router’s network getting slower than before, unauthorized users may access it. That is why logging in to your router’s admin settings is very important. If this is your first time doing it, here are the easy steps you can follow:
Step 1: Connect your Device to the Router
The first step you need to take is to connect your device to the router by using an ethernet cable to a WiFi connection. If you prefer to use an ethernet cable make sure to link it properly between the router and device LAN ports.
Step 2: Open your Browser
The next step is to open the browser on your device and type http://amplifi.lan in the address bar. Make sure to type the URL correctly so you can get into the login page seamlessly. For this step, you can use browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, and Safari.
Step 3: Enter your Admin Password
You will be taken to the login page after you have successfully entered the URL. In the fields that you will see, enter your admin password and click Login. The admin password is the same as the wireless password of your AmpliFi router.
Step 4: You will be Logged in Successfully
After entering the correct password, you will be redirected to the router’s admin panel. From there, you can make changes to the settings to make your network more secure. You can start by changing the WiFi password and SSID name to eliminate unauthorized access.
How to Change SSID Name and WiFi Password
You can configure the WLAN settings when you reach the router’s admin panel. However, configuring the settings is not possible on the web interface. You can do it via the app, so download the app first to proceed with the steps.
- When you have already downloaded the app, open it.
- Select the Amplify router icon>Wireless.
- In the SSID Name field, enter your new WiFi or SSID name.
- In the Password field, enter your new WiFi password.
- Click Save.
How to Reset an AmpliFi Router
If you have forgotten your password or face some issues when logging in, you can reset your router by following the steps below:
- Locate the reset button at the bottom of the router.
- Press and hold for 5 seconds until you see the word “rebooting” on the screen of the router.
- Wait for 3 minutes for the router to completely reboot.
Login Issues and Solutions with AmpliFi Router
Just like other routers, you may sometimes face issues when you log in to the settings. Here are the common ones and their solutions:
- Forgotten password: You can fix this by resetting the router to its factory default settings. This can be done by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds until the router reboots on its own.
- The site cannot be reached: If you cannot reach the site, the device is probably not connected to the router. Check if the ethernet cable is not loosened and the WiFi network has a strong and stable connection.
- Too many login attempts: When you enter the login details wrongly, you will be locked out from logging in. Just wait for some time and try to login again. If you cannot remember the password, you need to reset your router.
- The IP address is not working: If the IP address is wrong, you cannot reach the login page. Check if the IP address is mistyped and correct it. You can search for the default IP addresses online.
- IP conflicts: If multiple devices are using the same IP address, you will face the IP conflict issue. To solve this restart all the device to automatically assign new IP addresses for them.
