http://router lets you access the web interface of Belkin. When you log in at http://router, you will be able to change the SSID name and WiFi password of your router.
How to Log in to http.router
While you can log in at 192.168.1.254 or 192.168.1.1, using http.router is the best way to get in to Belkin web page for set ting up. If this is yours first time logging in, here are the steps you can follow:
Step 1: Connect to the Router’s Network
First connect your computer o the router’s network via Ethernet cable or via WiFi. For wired connection, connect both ends of the Ethernet cable between your device ans router’s LAN ports. For wireless connection, simply connect to the WiFi network,
Step 2: Open a Browser
Once a proper connection is verified, open a browser and type http://router in the address bar, then press Enter. You should be redirected to the login page, so if nothing happens try switching to another browser.

Step 3: Enter the Password
When taken to the login page, enter your password in the field given, then click on Login. If you don’t know what the default login password is, you can check the back of the router. If you don’t prompted to enter a password, leave it black and proceed.
Step 4: Access the Router Settings
When there are no issues encountered on the login page, you can now access the web user interface and begin setting up. From here, you can change the wireless settings and set up some advanced settings like Guest Network and Parental Controls. To protect your WiFi network make sure to create a strong password and avoid using easy to guess patterns and combinations like 123456, your surname and birthday.
How to Change WiFi Name and Password
On the dashboard, select Wireless > Channel and SSID. In the SSID field, enter your new WiFi name, then click Apply Changes. If your router supports dual band, make sure to change the WiFi mame for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
On the dashboard, select Wireless > Security. In the Pre-shared Key field, enter your new WiFi password for both bands, then click Apply Changes.
How to Reset Your Belkin Router
If you have changed your password in the past and have forgotten it, you can reset the router to factory default settings by following the steps below:
- Locate the reset button typically on the back of the router.
- Using a pin, press and hold it for at least 10 seconds, then release.
- Wait for the router to reboot completely, and that’s it.
Troubleshooting Common Belkin Login Issues
If there are issues pop up during the log in process, you can try the troubleshooting tips below:
- If you can’t connect to the network make sure your device is connected to the router either through WiFi or, if possible, with an Ethernet cable.
- If you can’t reach the login page, double-check the IP address you entered. Check if there are typos like extra dots, wrong numbers, or mixing up digits should be checked.
- Sometimes, the browser won’t work for some reasons. Try switching to a different browser like Chrome or Edge. You may also clear the cache and cookies, then refresh the page.
