MiWiFi Login

MiWiFi Login lets you access the web interface of Xiaomi MiWiFi Routers so you can change the SSID name, WiFi password, and other default settings.

How to Log in to MiWiFi

If you own a Mi router, it is best to configure its settings to optimize and protect your network. Although it may seem to be complicated, it is actually straightforward to do. All you have to do is log in to the router’s web interface. To do this, the steps below can walk you through:

Step 1: Connect to the Router’s Network

First and foremost, you have to make sure that your device is connected to the router’s network. You can do it via Ethernet cable or via WiFi. If you want a more stable signal, using an Ethernet cable is recommended. For a more accessible method, WiFi will do as long as your network is not congested.

Step 2: Open a Browser

Open your favorite browser, then type miwifi.com or 192.168.31.1 in the address bar. Regardless of what you use, make sure that it is correctly typed and has no extra spaces, numbers, or letters. When it is verified that the URL or IP address is correct, press Enter.

For the other router’s default IP addresses, you may refer to the table below:

Step 3: Enter your Login Details

You will be taken to the login page, where you will see a field that you need to fill out with your password. You can find the administrator password in the manual or on the back of the router.

Step 4: Access the Web Admin Interface

Once you log in, you will see the web interface comprising menus, tabs, and settings which you can tweak to suit your preference and needs. It is recommended to start with changing the WiFi password and WiFi name. This action will protect your WiFi network from hackers, intruders, and unauthorized people connecting to your network for free.

How to Change WiFi Name (SSID) and Password

If you notice your router’s network is not as fast as before, then there might be freeloaders connected to it. You can kick them off by modifying your Wireless settings. To do it:

  1. Log in to the router’s web interface.
  2. On the dashboard, select Settings > Wi-Fi Settings.
  3. In the Name field, enter your new SSID name.
  4. In the Mixed (WPA/WPA2 personal) field, enter your new password.
  5. Click Save.

How to Reset Your MiWiFi

Resetting your MiWiFi router can resolve some login issues, such as forgotten usernames and passwords, weak internet connection, and outdated firmware updates. If you face any of these issues when trying to log in, here’s what you can do:

  1. Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the router.
  2. Locate the reset button on the back of the router. It is typically a small hole.
  3. Hold down the reset button using a pin for 10 seconds.
  4. Wait for the indicator light to turn on, and your router will be reset to its factory settings.

Common MiWiFi Login Issues and Solutions

Sometimes, you may encounter some login issues even if you follow all the steps carefully. It’s fine, as you can fix them if you are familiar with these issues and troubleshooting methods:

  • Network connectivity issues: Before logging in, ensure the device is connected to the router. For Ethernet cable, check if both ends are connected between the device and the router. For a wireless connection, ensure the network is strong by disconnecting other devices to avoid network congestion.
  • Cannot load the login page: Ensure you’re entering the IP address in the address bar, not the search bar. Also, check if there are commas, extra periods, or incorrect number formatting.
  • Browser issues: If the page doesn’t load, switch to Chrome or Safari if you’re using Firefox. You can also disable any ad blockers or privacy extensions that may affect the login process.
  • The login details are not working. If you cannot recall the login details, you may need to reset the router to use the default credentials.
