Step 2: Open your Browser

After checking and ensuring that your connection is perfect for logging in, open the browser on your device and type 10.1.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. Remember to type the IP address correctly so you can reach the login page without having any issues. Also, use some of the common browsers like Chrome, Edge or Safari.

Step 3: Enter your Login Credentials

Now that you have reached the login page, you need to enter your username and password in the fields given. You can use the default login details that you can see on the back of the modem. Those details are typically printed on a sticker; you do not worry, as you can easily find them. For some Optus router brands, you only need to enter the password only, so if this is your case, then enter password then click Login.

Step 4: You will be Logged in to the Admin Panel

Finally, you will taken to the administration page, where you can see the router’s interface. You can now explore each setting and change them according to your liking and to what you think can improve your browsing and internet experience. How to Change SSID and WiFi Password

The SSID name and WiFi password are two of the most important settings you shouldn’t skip to configure when you first acquire your router. When the router is new, it comes with default details that anyone can search online, making them vulnerable to hacking. To change the WiFi password and network name, here are the steps you can follow depending on the router you own:

Optus Ultra WiFi (Gen 2) modem:

1. Open your browser and type http://10.1.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
2. Enter your username and password or only your password. (depends on your router).
3. Select Setup and Configuration > WiFi.
4. Choose WiFi 2.4GHz or WiFi 5GHz, then click Configure.
5. Enter your new SSID name in the WiFi network name field.
6. Enter your new WiFi password in the WiFi Password field.
7. Click Save and Apply.

If you own a Sagemcom Optus Modem, you can follow the steps below:

1. Open your browser and type 192.168.0.1 in the address bar. For Sagem F@st 1201, the default IP address is 10.1.1.1.
2. Enter your username and password and click Login.
3. Select Setup and Configuration > WiFi.
4. In the WiFi network name field, enter your new SSID name.
5. In the WiFi Password field, enter your new WiFi password.
6. Click Save and Apply.

How to Reset Your Optus Modem

You can reset your modem via the web interface. To do this:

1. Go to Settings>Modem Settings and click Continue.
2. Select Maintenance>Backup and Restore.
3. Click Create Backup File if you want to back up your file.
4. Click Restart>Factory Reset Modem.
5. Click Continue.

You can also reset your modem via hard reset:

1. Locate the reset button on the back of the router.
2. Press and hold the button for 10 seconds, then release it.
3. The indicator lights will flash on and off.
4. Wait for the modem to reboot and completely restore to factory default settings.
