You can change the settings of your TCL router by logging into its administration management panel. If this is your first time performing it, here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Connect your Device to the Router
The first step is to ensure the device is p[properly connected to the router. If using a wired connection, check if the ethernet cable is properly linked from the device’s ethernet port to the router’s LAN port. Step 2: Open your Browser
Launch your browser and type http://192.168.1.1/ in the address bar. Make sure to enter the correct IP address to avoid login issues. In case you encounter such an issue as web browser incompatibility, just switch from one browser to another and see what works for you.

This step involves entering your username and password into the fields on the login page. If this is your first time logging in, you can check the router’s back for the default login details. - Insert the pin or a paper clip into the reset hole and push it forward.
- Carry on holding it in for about 15 seconds up till you hear the click sound. This usually means that the unit is resetting.
- When this is complete, unplug the AC power cord from the router. This ensures that the router will proceed to boot with the default factory settings.
- Now replace the SIM card in the router’s SIM slot.
- Return power to the router and connect it to your network.
That’s it! Congratulations! Your router has returned to its original settings and is connected to the internet again.
Login Issues and Troubleshooting
Login issues and problems connecting to your TCL router might not be new to you. Fret not because we are here to guide you and take you through all the processes step by step.
Make sure you have the correct login information.
Make sure you are typing the right IP address in the address bar that allows you access to the router’s admin page. Most of the decoders will use 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1; check your router user manual to find out. For the default login details visit the nack of your router.
Test the internet connection.
If possible, use an Ethernet cable to connect directly to the router; this will avoid the problems of using a wireless connection. Make sure that you are connected to the required Wi-Fi network and that the router is on and broadcasting the network.
Delete browser history and cookies or use another browser.
Occasionally, browsers create issues of their own whereby it may happen that the trouble in logging in is caused by the currently used browser. Perform trying clearing all your cache or off exploring the other browsers (for instance, Google Chrome catching Firefox).
Restart the router.
Power-cycle the router by switching the power off, waiting for about ten seconds, and switching it on again. This is an easy fix, and it is helpful in a number of cases.
Check for firmware updates.
Access the router’s admin panel and see whether there is new firmware that is ready or not. An old modem firmware could be a cause of trouble logging in or poor connectivity. If you cannot log into the panel or cannot even remember closing it but know how to carry out a firmware upgrade, then get the latest firmware version from the TCL website together with the steps to carry this out.
