How to Log in to TPG Modem
When it comes to managing your network, knowing how to log in to your TPG modem is crucial, as you can take control of your network settings like a pro. But if this is your first to doing it, you probably don’t know how to get started. To help you, here are the steps to follow:
Step 1: Connect Your Device to the Modem
To get started, connect your device to the TPG modem. You can do this using a wired connection by plugging an Ethernet cable from your modem’s LAN port into your computer. If you prefer a wireless setup, just open your device’s WiFi settings and connect to your TPG network name.

Once you’re connected, you can start the login process.
Step 2: Open a Web Browser
Once connected, open a web browser like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. In the address bar (not the search bar), type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and hit the Enter key on your keyboard. If the page doesn’t load, double-check that you entered the IP correctly and that you’re connected to the modem’s network.

How to Reset a TPG Modem
If you forgot your login details or something isn’t working right, a factory reset might help. But remember that resetting the modem will erase all the modifications you have made to your router settings. So, before performing a factory reset, save all the important details as you won’t be able to retrieve them at all.
To reset your TPG modem:
- Locate the reset button (usually a small pinhole at the back)
- Use a paperclip or pin to press and hold it for 10–15 seconds
- Release when the lights start blinking
- Wait for the modem to reboot
After resetting, the modem will return to its factory settings, including the default WiFi name, password, and admin login.
Common TPG Modem Login Issues and Fixes
Being familiar with the common login issues and troubleshooting for your TPG modem can save you from headaches and hassle when logging in. Here are a few common issues you might run into and how to fix them:
- Wrong Username/Password: If you haven’t changed the default login details in the past, try using “admin” for both. If that fails and you can’t remember the new ones, reset the modem.
- IP Address Not Working: Make sure you’re typing it in the address bar, not the search field. If one IP doesn’t work, try the other. You can also search for the default IP addresses online or check the back of the router, as it is sometimes printed on a sticker there.
- Browser Not Loading Login Page: You can fix this issue by trying another browser or clearing your cache and cookies. If these don’t work, you can reset the modem to factory settings.
- No Internet Connection: Make sure your device is connected to the modem. If using WiFi, check your signal. If using Ethernet, check that the cable is properly connected. If all else fails, restart your modem and your device. If nothing helps, contact TPG support.
